and Mandy Cabot went on a trip to Denmark. At the time, they were horse trainers looking for a good "barn shoe," something comfortable enough for hours of chores in the stable. They stumbled onto traditional Danish clogs in a tiny shop, brought a few pairs home, and were hooked. They started selling them out of the back of their station wagon at horse shows. Word spread fast, and within a year, Dansko, which simply means "Danish shoe," was born.
